Homemade Teeth Whitening Paste
I’ve been on an oral product kick the past few days, researching harmful ingredients and safer options on the market. If you didn’t get a chance to read about the dangers of fluoride check out my article here https://thewellnessperiodical.com/benefits-of-natural-toothpaste/. So in a continuation of my search for healthier options I recalled reading and trying out a recipe in the Home Apothecary Book by Ashley English for a homemade teeth whitening paste a few months ago. The recipe couldn’t be simpler with only two ingredients that can probably be found in almost every home cabinet.

To make this homemade teeth whitening paste all you need is 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide, mixed with 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Once mixed just put the mixture on your toothbrush and brush lightly. Once it’s all over your teeth let it sit for about a minute and rinse everything out of your mouth thoroughly. (Although this is a natural way of whitening your teeth, with anything you don’t want to overdo this process as it will break down the enamel. Ashley recommends using 2-3 times a week at most.) You don’t want to store the mixture, be sure to make a fresh batch every time you want to whiten.
This couldn’t be a simpler process, and I am telling you it really does work! My teeth came out whiter just with the first use, and knowing that it’s not harming my body in any way gives me peace of mind. Check out my little tutorial video below to see how it’s done!
