Home Remedy for Foot Odor
Smelly feet, we all have them (some worse then others). There have been so many instances talking with people about their smelly feet problems, and most have the same old stories. “I tried every spray, powder and pill on the market and nothing works!” The key to ridding of these odors isn’t to cover them up (as most over the counter products do). The key is to kill the root of the issue, and that is bacteria! When we wear shoes and socks, our feet will sweat and create moisture, in turn growing bacteria. This potent scent isn’t just a plain old smell, it’s actually bacteria and fungus that is growing under the nails and on the feet. I have to give this holistic home remedy for foot odor to my husband. He has been using this method to kill bacteria on his feet for as long as I can remember, and I can attest…. it works! hehe

Black Tea Foot Soak

Steep two bags of black tea into a pint of hot water for about 5-6 minutes. In a soaking bowl (something that both feet can submerge into). Pour the steeped tea along with enough warm water to cover your feet into the bowl. Let your feet soak in this solution for 30 minutes. You can do this 5-7 days in a row/once a day to rid of any bacteria. I would recommend keeping this as a monthly routine to keep bacteria under control.
*Tip: While you’re soaking your feet to rid of foot odor, you could read a book, or watch the news. One thing that kept my husband from sitting down and doing this ritual in the beginning was because he felt like he couldn’t sit still for 30 minutes. But, if you find a moment during the day when you’re normally sitting for a period of time, use that block of time to soak your feet as well!
